Hello,

My Windows Update is showing "HP Inc. - Firmware - 15.4.0.0" is available for installation. I was told not to update BIOS unless it's necessary but there seems to be no way to skip this update. Does anyone know if this update is safe?

I concur. Also, I recommend that your desktop PC be connected to a UPS ("uninterruptible power supply") to prevent an unexpected loss of electrical power from interrupting the BIOS Update process. For a laptop, ensure that its battery is fully-charged, and that the AC adapter is plugged-in and connected to the laptop.

Presumably, this update has been well-tested by HP, before being released to the public.

Safe? Well, people do die during heart-surgery, even though the procedure is deemed to be "safe".
