Pavilion All In One 27-r0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

This computer is used by my 11 year old daughter for online school work and playing the Sims 4.  That is the extent of its purpose.

When this computer gets turned off/powered down it loses all of my daughter's downloaded content, game save files, and documents.  The entire My Documents folder is empty.  There are no other user accounts, just the one she uses.  This has happened at least 3 times over the last year, I was recently informed.

I have no idea where to even begin to search for her files, or what to do to keep this from happening again, other than to have her start everything over (again) and use One Drive from here forward.  Can anyone help?

@Gwyndylan
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

  • Are those Microsoft files like excel word or paint?
  • Have you tried downloading files from an external USB drive or hard drive?
  • Have you made any hardware/software changes?
  • Did this happen after a recent window or software update?

While you respond to that, let's try these steps:

  • Shutdown the computer.
  • Unplug all the power cord or adapter and peripherals connected.
  • Press and hold down the power button for 15 to 20 seconds.
  • Plug-in the Adapter.
  • Try to turn on the computer.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
