HP Pavillion 23-g010

My HP Pavillion 23-g010 is running very slowly. It's Windows 8. I performed a factory reset and removed all the software I don't need, ran the HP Support Assistant diagnostics and updates, still just as slow. Help?

Unless you went out of your way to Disable Windows Updates, your factory reset put the PC back YEARS and Windows Update is now going to spend days downloading and installing possibly hundreds of updates -- and slowing the PC to a crawl in the process, as that hogs both CPU resources and disk resources in the process.

You need to go into Windows Updates and change the settings so that it does not automatically either download or install updates -- and see if that helps.
