Thanks for responding.  I'm importing from both a Cannon GL2 Digital camcorder and a Betacam SP deck.

Thank you for the information.

You can purchase the firewire card that should support PCI.

Or you can purchase the  USB to firewire converter. Please see the image.

The Canon GL2 Digital camcorder will work on the USB.

Please refer to the below link to how to connect the device to the computer.

Hello.  Tried using a standard USB to firewire converter as you suggested but my PC still doesn't see the camera.  Time to purchase a firewire card?  Thanks

@MarcusMC

You will need to use a Firewire Card if the USB to Firewire converter did not work

Keep us posted how it goes

Thanks KrazyToad!  Are there minimum requirements I need for a card?  I won't be doing any gaming or anything unusual so can I go with a pretty basic card?  Marcus

As I have stated that You can purchase the firewire card that should support PCI.

It will support Windows 10,8.1,8,7, Vista, XP,2000, NT 4.0, Server 2003 Linux kernel 2.6 or later, DOS operating system.

You could purchase the part from HP, use the HP Parts surfer to identify the part: http://partsurfer.hp.com/search.aspx

And order it via the HP Parts store: https://parts.hp.com/hpparts/CountryChoice.aspx?mscssid=&ccode=ZZ&lcode=ZZ

Or alternatively, Contact HP for setting up an order/service via phone support

Have a nice day!!
