I have a new laptop which will not turn on. I try registering my serial and product numbers, but the system won’t accept them, so I can’t talk to HP. I checked the back of the computer and I am definitely entering the correct numbers I had written down directly from the computer screen when I first brought it home!
When I first turned on my laptop 2 weeks ago, I registered it too! Does anyone have a number I can call please? This has taken up a couple of hours of time already!

The problem has been solved. I managed to contact HP tech by a very roundabout way and it turns out the warranty was showing as having expired three months ago! So, my guess is that likely it had been a customer return as it was also the floor model. The reason the computer was not turning on was the software was all corrupted and Bios was out of date by a couple of updates, so the tech restored it to factory conditions remotely and everything works fine now; the warranty information has been updated with my date of purchase! I bought the computer at the advertised sales price and not at a clearance price. It was the only model available for purchase and it was the model I wanted. The online store was out of stock too. With hindsight I should have asked for a further discount.
