This is Kumar, i am having system HP Z240 SFF workstation, i7 6th gen, it has M.2 Slot. 

i need to upgrade sata ssd to nvme m.2. 

 

wll support nvme m.2 and which ssd will support and what is the capacity of ssd

Please take a look at my HP Z240 SFF upgrade project.  Some of it may be helpful to you, whereas some mods may be a bridge too far for you.  And yes, an M.2 NVMe SSD is compatible with this desktop, including functioning as a primary (boot) drive: Solved: Upgrading HP Z240 Desktop Workstation SFF - HP Support Community - 8427878.

 

You can use any capacity M.2 NVMe Gen3 SSD.
