I have been getting a "Hard Drive Failure Imminent" message during re-boots and I have confirmed through my diagnostics that the warning is legit. I have already learned how to replace the hard drive on my system, but I could really use someone's help in finding the RIGHT hard drive to buy. There are a lot of options out there and I want to make sure that I select the right one.

Also, I've never had to replace a hard drive before. Once replaced, what do I have to do reinstate my computer back to it's original capacity?

Can anyone help?

Thanks!

Would help to know the model number of your PC to find out if it has an SSD as well as an HDD.

In terms of hard drives, all 3.5" desktop drives are very similar.  Some are slower than others, some are faster than others. If we knew what drive model you had now, we could give you more detailed advice regarding replacing it.
