Pavilion p7-1414

I purchased this computer a few years ago, with Windows 8.  Right afterwards I upgraded to Windows 10 and lost a lot of the computer's functionality.  How do I find out what drivers the computer was loaded with so I can re-load them?

@epush

It doesn't matter what drivers it had originally because those were for Windows 8.1, not for Windows 10.

You could download them if you wanted, but I would personally advise against forcing their installation.

Hi, @epush

What functionality did you lose?

Looking at the specs for your PC, W10 should have installed all of the necessary drivers and there should be no devices listed in the device manager in need of drivers.

If there are, let me know what devices need drivers.

There may be two devices that won't work on W10...the audio and the wifi.

There is no fix for the wifi.  The Ralink wifi cards usually don't work on the newer builds of W10.

If you have no audio, you can try the W10 IDT audio driver from a newer model desktop and see if that works.

Restart the PC after installing the driver.

This package provides the Tempo High Definition Audio Driver for supported desktop models that are running a supported operating system.
