@Mae1977, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
Note Error Message: Document the blue screen error message and the activity during its occurrence. This information can help pinpoint the issue.
Perform a Hard Reset: Disconnect all external peripherals and conduct a hard reset to clear temporary memory issues.
- Turn off the computer.
- Remove the computer from any port replicator or docking station.
- Disconnect all external devices, such as USB drives and printers.
- Unplug the AC adapter and remove the battery (if possible).
- Hold the power button for at least 15 seconds to discharge residual power.
- Reinstall the battery and plug in the AC adapter without connecting peripherals.
- Turn on the computer and select "Start Windows Normally" if prompted.
Reset BIOS to Default: This prevents booting problems due to changes in BIOS settings.
- Reboot the computer and press F10.
- Navigate to "Main" and select "Restore Defaults."
Run HP Hardware Diagnostics: Use HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) to test the hard drive, memory, and system for issues.
- This tool can help identify faulty hardware that might be causing the blue screen.
Remove Recently Added Hardware: Uninstall any recently added hardware or software, as they may be incompatible with your system.
