HP Office Jet Pro 8710

When I purchased my HP Office Jet Pro 8710, I had a different email address ([personal info removed]).  I had to inactivate that email, and my new email is [personal info removed]  Therefore I cannot log into that account.

Hi @Rick_R55,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

If you're unable to log into your existing account on your HP 8710 printer because the old email is inactive, you'll need to update the printer's settings with your new email information. Here are steps to guide you through this process:

Access the Printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS):

  • On your computer, open a web browser.
  • Enter the printer's IP address into the address bar. You can find this by printing a network configuration page from the printer. The IP address should be listed there.
  • Once you enter the IP address, it should open the printer's Embedded Web Server.

Access the Web Services Settings:

  • In the Embedded Web Server, navigate to the "Web Services" or "HP Connected" tab/menu.

Disable Web Services and Reset:

  • Disable the existing HP Connected account or Web Services associated with the old email address. This step might involve selecting options like "Remove Account" or "Disable Web Services."

Enable Web Services and Set Up New Account:

  • After disabling, enable Web Services again.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to set up Web Services with your new email address. This process might involve registering the printer with the new email and creating a new HP Connected account.

Confirm and Verify:

  • Follow the prompts to confirm the new email address and verify the printer settings.

Test the Connection:

  • Once set up, test the connection by sending a test print or checking if the printer is connected to the new account.

If you encounter any specific error messages or difficulties during this process, it might be beneficial to consult HP's phone support.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
