Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11

My system lost the windows product key in an upgrade.  I need the original product key that came with my system.  Windows support tried to help, but the key has been lost from my Bios they said.  How do I get it??

It is very hard to lose a product key from the BIOS.

 

Download and install the free Showkey Plus app from the Microsoft Store.

 

ShowKeyPlus - Microsoft Apps

 

If the product key is still in the BIOS, it will report the Windows OEM product key and the version of Windows the key is good for.

 

If the report returns no information or product key, unfortunately you will probably have to purchase a W11 product key that you can enter, and you must retain the key in a safe place should you need to install Windows again.

You can contact HP customer service and see if they will issue a product key to you after you explain to the agent what happened.
