I think I need to reset this computer

Pavilion Slimline s5-1114

This belonged to my Brother-in-Law who is now deceased. No one knows the Admin password so I cannot update or install software. I think it needs to be reset which I am willing to do but have never done before so I'm being abundantly cautious. I would really appreciate any help up to and including exact instructions for doing this. Any potential pitfalls that can be revealed would also be greatly appreciated.
