I plan to buy a brand new NVME M.2 drive to replace the one that came with my Envy PC. I've extracted the original Windows 11 Home product key from my system, and it is written down. I also have Windows 11 install media on a USB drive.
So can I simply put in the new M.2, boot from USB, and do a fresh install using the extracted product key?
Will I lose any HP specific features? Or will everything such as USB, etc. work?
Thanks!

According to the support page for that model, it is supported for the HP Cloud Recovery tool
https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_4511095-4511141-16
That would reinstall the OS and all of the "extra" software to return it to factory. It should also not need any product key info, either.
I'm not an HP employee.

I decided to just do a standard Windows 11 re-install with my USB media drive. However, during setup, it would not recognize the new NVMe (Samsung 980 Pro). Something about Intel drivers. I tried everything I could, and it simply would not detect it. I ended up returning the drive. 😞
