Solved!

I would like to add a hard drive to my system but there is no power available with this power supply

HP Recommended
envy 795-0137
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Is it possible to upgrade this psu to 500w with additional sata power

Normally you don't need more power when adding a new hard drive. All you need

 

(a) Available physical bay,

(b) Motherboard has spare and suitable SATA port.

 

But the specs of your machine is

 

          https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06274383

 

It has   2 TB 7200 rpm SATA now and it has

 

  • One PCIe x16 socket
  • One PCIe x4 socket
  • Two PCIe x1 sockets
  • One M.2 socket 1, key A
  • One M.2 socket 3, key M

That means you can simply add  M.2 NVMe drive (1TB or 2TB) and move Windows to this fast drive then use existing drive for storage. You will get a much better machine,.
