Hello, had the laptop for about a week before deciding to reformat to get rid of the bloatware now I'm getting INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE error message and then the laptop restarts and gets stuck on the HP logo forever. I've tried reformatting multiple times and have wiped the hard drive clean. I've also tried windows start up repair but that doesn't work either. I am using a USB device with Windows 10 on it. No BIOS setting have been changed.

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

What software did you use to reformat the HDD?

I use Windows 10 installation media to clear the disk, create partitions, and install the operating system.

Run HP Diagnostics at boot time (Link).

It is also possible you are experiencing a MBR versues GPT boot issue.

Make sure you are booting to, usually, a UEFI USB boot device when installing Windows 10. This is the default procedure unless your PC has a Legacy BIOS.

Since you have stated the Laptop is new it should sport a UEFI BIOS and support a GPT HDD structure.

Regards
