HP ENVY Desktop PC TE01-1000i (1K4E8AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a stock HP ENVY Desktop PC TE01-1000i with 16gb ram. I want to upgrade to 32 gb.

Does the stock memory configuration include a single 16gb or two of the 8gb size?

In other words, do I have an open slot available?

@Mark_K1 -- download, install, and run the free version of the SPECCY software.

It will tell you the current number of RAM sockets on your motherboard, although SPECCY can be wrong -- for one computer of mine, it reports "minus-one" sockets are available.

SPECCY also reports the performance specification of each stick of RAM:

But, before you spend any money, open the Windows "Task Manager", and switch to the "Performance" tab.

How much of your current RAM is "active", and how much is either "cached" or "unused" ?

If a significant amount of your 16 GB is "unused", then why purchase another 16 GB that also will be "unused" ?
