@SVPerez26, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your desktop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Experiencing random power issues with your HP desktop can be frustrating. Here are some steps you can take to diagnose and potentially resolve this issue:

1. Check Power Supply and Cables

  • Ensure all power cables are securely connected to your desktop and power outlet.
  • Check for any visible damage on the power cables.
  • Try using a different power outlet or power cable to rule out power supply issues.

2. Overheating Prevention

  • Ensure that all vents and fans on your desktop are not obstructed.
  • Clean any dust or debris that might be clogging the vents or fans.
  • Consider using third-party software to monitor system temperatures and fan speeds.

3. Update BIOS

  • An outdated or corrupt BIOS can sometimes cause power issues. Ensure your BIOS is up-to-date:
    • Visit the HP support website to check for BIOS updates for your specific model.
    • Follow the instructions provided to update your BIOS.

4. Check for Hardware Issues

  • If you have recently installed new hardware (RAM, GPU, etc.), ensure they are properly seated.
  • Temporarily disconnect any non-essential peripherals (printers, external drives) to see if it resolves the issue.

5. Run HP Diagnostic Tools

  • Use HP’s built-in diagnostic tools to check for system errors or hardware issues.
  • Restart your computer and press the "F2" key to enter HP's diagnostics mode and run tests.

6. Software Conflicts

  • Ensure your operating system and drivers are up-to-date.
  • Run a complete virus/malware scan to rule out any malicious interference.
  • Consider doing a system restore to revert any recent changes.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
