My hp desktop will not play dvds. I have sound but not video.

HP Recommended
Pavilion 590
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP desktop has a dvd player but won't play videos.  I can hear sound in the media player but no video.  System is up to date.  Have never tried using it for videos until now.

Thanks.

Probably the default video player is not compatible. Please download and install the following player and use it to play video discs

            http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html

It can play nearly all video formats including BD's (given your ODD hardware supports BD's)

Regards.
