started an updated and screen with blue... went to recovery to remove the new update, and I do not have administrator set up on computer, need files backed up before rebooting to factory reset.

If the issue was that a Windows update failed or corrupted the PC in some way, even successfully doing a reset would not fix the issue. Why? Because as soon you you went back online, Windows would redownload and redo the SAME update again -- causing the same problems.  With older Windows OS versions, we could deny specific updates, but MS took that feature away from us starting with Windows 10 and continuing it with Windows 11.
