New Hard Drive, New Windows needed?

Phoenix h9
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Looks like my hard drive has finally went. If I buy a new hard drive from a third-party, do I need to purchase a new Windows software? Or is the Windows software saved on the motherboard? thank you.

Hi:

If you had previously upgraded to W10, you can reinstall it for free by using the Media creation tool at the link below to create a bootable USB installation flash drive.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

If you are asked to enter a product key during the installation process, select the 'I don't have a product key' option, and W10 will install and automatically activate once you are connected to the internet.

Sorry, one more question. May I download and create this bootable flash drive using a Mac computer?

Hi:

You will need to use another Windows PC with W7 or newer installed.
