I have the same problem. I tried making my own post but for some reason it won't go let me. In short, my computer is making beeping noises with no particular pattern or defineable reason. It happens at random, after the PC has been on for a while. I'll go to open a program or file and it'll beep. Always seem to be a different amount of beeps (hard to count due to rapid pace). I'll restart the computer and it goes a way for a time, but never fails to come back. I've run every scan I can think of to no avail.

P.S. I don't know if this information is relevant, but I have the PC laying on it's side (vent's are exposed and upward). Again, don't know if this is valuable information, but I had read that wouldn't have any adverse effects.

Thanks in advance!

@LuckyLemons
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • What is the product number of your device? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824 (Ensure you do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc...).
  • Have you tried updating system software?
  • Does the computer shut down or hangs up?

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thanks for your response, I have tried everything I can think of. Be it updates what have you. My product number is Z5N88AA#ABA. I've tried over and over to search for results and just today it beeped at me with 1 beep. Later, it was 3 and then even later it was 4. When this occurs it just starts running slowly but then speeds back up.
