My daughter has done something to my PC and its wiped everything and now it says operating system wasnt found, how do insort think as need computer for university

That message could be indicating something has corrupted the boot manager or that there is media in a device that the boot manager is trying to access. 

First check in the BIOS to see if the hard drive has not failed.  If the hard drive is seen in the BIOS, it could possibly be a matter of reapiring the boot manager.
