I'm soooo irritated and frustrated about this!
Why????!?!?!??? Why the f....?!?!?!? Why is or should this not be possible? HP just thinks there is a dedicated GPU so let's waste the integrated GPU and also power at the same time...!?!?!

 

I guess this would be possible without any Problem if the UEFI/BIOS was programmed that way!?! Read this, this absolute is or would be the solution:

If combining the on board Intel® HD Graphics with a external PCI/PCIe video card, Windows will allow using the two graphics controllers at the same time, but the only dual display mode available is "Extended desktop". If you are looking for other dual display options like "Clone display" then it will be necessary to connect the two monitors into one of the graphics solutions, the on board or the video card so Windows will give you the dual display modes available depending on the graphics adapter.

 

In order to accomplish this, the most important thing is to change some settings on the BIOS. Please go to the configuration tab>video>integrated graphics device> set to "always enable"

So, why not allowing this option to save power on normal usage?!? Even Windows and Nvidia control panel NATIVELY support multiple GPUs and configuring/assigning for which app to use which GPU!!! I mean, the dedicated GPU showed me let's say 7-8W on idle/desktop!!! This is f.... extreme and such a waste of power and battery time!

I guess the whole CPU with iGPU together would'nt really consume more on idle/desktop!?! (Will check that later, don't have System monitoring tool right now).
