Envy Phoenix 810-460
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have a desktop HP Envy Phoenix 810-460 and get crash on HDD. I tried to format the HDD and run the Recovery but not succeed. Where I can buy the original recovery disc ? I look up on HP website but it seems HP doesn't have it. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi:

The product specs for your PC indicate that it came with W8.1 from HP, not W7.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04545257

Is there a W7 COA with a 25 character product key on the PC's case somewhere?

If so, I can give you a way to reinstall W7 using the product key.

Otherwise, I can give you a way to reinstall W8.1.

If the PC came with W8.1, the product key is in the BIOS and you don't need it to reinstall W8.1.

Thank you for your reply. It was my bad as I don't see any Windows 7 sticker so I assume it is Windows 8. The HDD came with the PC still has the recovery partition but I try to recover by pressing F11 when the PC starts but it shows I can't install windows 8 (retail) as the HDD still has recovery partition. Please help

You're very welcome.

Here are your options since the recovery program isn't working...

1. Order recovery media from HP for your PC at the link below.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/mediaorder/HP-ENVY-Phoenix-810-400-Desktop-PC-series/7477706/model/7549...

2. Clean install W8.1 for free as follows...

Download the plain W8.1 64 bit ISO file from the link below.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows8ISO

Use a utility to transfer the ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive so that it is bootable.

You can use the Microsoft tool that I zipped up and attached below to do that, or you can use a DVD burning program that has a burn ISO file option, or some other free utility such as Rufus.

After W8.1 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your PC's support page.
