HP Pro Desk 600GI SFF

When pressing the power-on button the following pattern of bleeps and flashing of the red light occurs:-

4 short bleeps/flashes followed by a pause, then 4 bleeps/flashes again and so on. This is only the red light, not the white light.

Have unplugged all cables and reconnected them but the same issue occurs .

This error occurred before but corrected itself after some days left at a computer repair shop.

thanks for posting size to, way to go !@

a dead PC, right fans dead tool.

Beep codes are mostly a old PC error thing,  but real.

the service manuals of most PC made cover beeps or users man..  and it does , top listed manual, at hp.

the beeps mean catastrophic errors. as in dead or shorted things inside the PC. (USB unplugged first)

POST ERROR IT IS:

4 short can mean simply the RTC coin cell is now dead, at 5 to 7 years old they die. below 2.9vdc they are bad. 3.3v par. new.

Power LED flashes Red four times, once every second, followed by a two second pause, and the computer beeps four times. (Beeps stop after fifth iteration but LEDs continue flashing.

IF this is  power failure, code per above , any thing in the PC can short and if does it beeps like that. or the PSU is bad.

we strip down all pCs any time they are dead.

we test that way to prove all things removed are not shorted out.

down to PSU + MOBO + 1 stick of ram (test them 1 by 1) and pull all SATA 2 cables,power/data.

all PCI-e cards removed, if any.

if that fails I bench test the PSU,  using a jumper, and test all rails for good spec voltage, I have load bank here but you do not..so,....

make sure PC is clean inside no lint and not lint blocking fans

and clean (blow out DDR slots and test DDR RAM 1 at a time.

remove parts only with line cord remove, AC no AC power connected, let sit a spell. (1/2hr) and then test.

do not how swap any parts inside (Hot means AC connected ever)

here is your manual (on topic exact)
