I would like to remove all personal information from my computer so that I can give it away. I do not have an installation disc but the computer has a recovery image as a 😧 partition on the HDD.

Since the Recovery Manager and partition are intact, just start the Recovery Manager and tell it to not save anything and reinstall the OS.

If you are paranoid about the information being recovered, make the Recovery Media from within the Recovery Manager - either DVD or flash drive - and then use a secure formatting software IE: DBan and then run the Recovery from the media after the hard drive has been cleaned.
