Since it is a "desktop" computer, you can purchase almost any "desktop" CD/DVD reader/writer as a replacement, and save a few dollars, as compared to buying a "genuine HP" part.  It will fit, and the power/data connectors are 100% compatible.

It seems to be a "slimline" device -- most-commonly found in laptop/notebook computers, rather than a "full-size" device (one inch tall, 3.5 inches wide faceplate).

It depends on your needs.

How often will you actually use the drive?  Seems silly to spend "big bucks" for "occasional" use.

Do you have any BluRay titles that you wish you could play on your computer?  If so, then find a "combo" BluRay/DVD/CD drive.

Otherwise, there are no manufacturers of "junk" on the market.

Maybe, find a small "owner/operator" computer-store.

They may have an inexpensive "pre-owned" one, pulled from a dead laptop.
