Hello!

I am concerned about moving to a “new” refurbished PC.

My current PC, an HP EliteDesk 800 G4 W10, is giving me problems and needs to be replaced or repaired.

I have purchased an identical PC on the Internet with W11.

They would not supply W10 as they were working with MS and their W11 only SCAM.

I do not want W11 so I will attempt to remove the W10-C:\ Drive and install it on the replacement PC.

Will I have an issue with O/S Software and need to “uninstall and reinstall” sometime in the process?

Please guide me through the correct procedure.

Mike Lynch

Greetings @Mike-Lynch

Try using the W10 drive from the old PC in the new "identical" W11 PC.

All hardware drivers should be good to go if both PCs are identical.

But all bets are off if the W10 system drive is failing or if the W10 installation is corrupted.

Either of the above caveats would cause problems when migrating the system drive to the second identical PC.

W10 might even activate on the new PC since both PCs should have the generic HP OEM Windows product key stored in the BIOS.
