Everytime i have to run the troubleshooter and have it resolved. but now i receive SMART hard disk error when i restart my computer and the problem with wifi is still there. I tried to do the system diagnostics and always receive the message that SMART test is failed.

Hi @svanaki,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems like you're experiencing multiple issues with your HP ENVY Recline TouchSmart All-In-One computer. Let's address each problem step by step:
Wi-Fi Adapter Issue: If your Wi-Fi adapter keeps getting disabled on its own, it could be due to a driver issue, interference, or other software-related problems. Here are some steps to troubleshoot this issue:
- a. Update Wi-Fi Drivers: Ensure that your Wi-Fi drivers are up-to-date. You can usually do this by going to the HP website, finding your specific model, and downloading the latest Wi-Fi driver.
- b. Check for Interference: Make sure there are no physical obstructions or sources of interference (like other electronic devices) near your computer and Wi-Fi router.
- c. Disable Power Management: Sometimes, power-saving settings can cause Wi-Fi issues. Go to the Device Manager, find your Wi-Fi adapter, right-click, and choose "Properties." Under the "Power Management" tab, make sure the option to "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" is unchecked.
- d. Reset Network Settings: You can try resetting your network settings. In Windows 10 or 11, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network reset.
SMART Hard Disk Error: Receiving a SMART hard disk error message indicates potential issues with your hard drive. SMART (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology) is a system built into hard drives to monitor their health. If it's failing, it's important to act quickly. Here's what you can do:
- a. Back Up Your Data: If you haven't already, immediately back up any important data on your computer. SMART errors can signal an impending hard drive failure.
- b. Replace the Hard Drive: Given the SMART test has failed, it's likely your hard drive is failing or has already failed. You should consider replacing it with a new one. If your computer is under warranty, contact HP support for a possible replacement.
- c. Reinstall the Operating System: After replacing the hard drive, you'll need to reinstall the operating system and restore your data from your backup.
- d. Check for BIOS Updates: Sometimes, updating your computer's BIOS can help resolve hardware issues. However, be cautious when updating the BIOS, and make sure you follow HP's instructions carefully.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
