HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab516tx
Linux

Hi

The laptop is slow on start up, i have turned off the startup applications, have installed another ram to boost up the speed but it did not work. Also tried linux but its still the same slow speed. I was trying to update the BIOS but unable to do it, i don't see any options in the BIOS setup or any drivers on the hp website.

Need advice on how to fix this issue.

Thanks

My pleasure.

Again, I don't know if your MB supports M.2, PCIe NVME drives.

Good 2.5 inch SATA SSDs would be:

Samsung

Crucial

HP

Greetings @Samre247

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Yes, very unusual.

There are no driver/BIOS updates for your PC using any operating system. You're not going to get any support using Linux.

This HP Support Site is useless to check your PC's configuration or what MB is installed in your PC. Try your PC's serial number at the above site to see if HP provides product details.

I can only suggest looking at a SATA SSD upgrade unless your PC has an M.2 socket. Then do an M.2 drive.

I can't suggest a fix using HP information provided at the above site.

Sorry for venting frustration in your thread. But I can't figure out what the heck HP is doing. And I can't provide more detailed assistance.

Hi Bill

I was also thinking of getting a ssd. Any recommendation on which to get or whichever one is compatible?

Thanks
