Trouble with my HP Desktop PC - 870-124na accepting acer monitor

I purchased my pc recently but when I connect it to my older acer monitor nothing happens except it states 'no signal' on the screen.  Can anyone help?

Your PC (Link) was manufactured in 2016.


This PC shipped with a discrete Radeon RX 580R graphics card and Intel integrated graphics.


You may be connecting the monitor to one of two Intel HDMI ports located on the back I/O panel. Video will not work because you have a AMD graphics card installed.

Selection 3 represents Intel integrated graphics. You must connect the monitor to the AMD graphics card HDMI port to see video. The above HDMI connections (item 3) will not work unless you remove the AMD graphics card.
