HP Envy M6
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Have spent hours to find a Download for DRIVER for HP TRUEVISION HD WEBCAM

- numerous references that in the end say drivers are not handled by HP, so go to Microsoft, but Microsoft doesn't provide

- then other references saying install Cyberlink YouCam (v5, 6, 7....)

for example:hp truevision hd webcam not detected

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Drivers-for-HP-TrueVision-HD-Webcam-f...

NOT A SOLUTION!!!!!!

https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebooks-Archive-Read-Only/hp-truevision-hd-webcam-not-detected/m-p/4...

The Webcam does not appear in Device manager like above

- need to install the driver for HP TRUEVISION HD WEBCAM

How to do this?

@Al345

Welcome to HP Community

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

I appreciate all your efforts and expertise in troubleshooting this issue

I suggest you run a Webcam Test to confirm the Hardware Functionality

- Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the Notebook.
- Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second.
- When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
- On the main menu, click Component Tests and Webcam

If the issue persists you might have to perform a Reset. Please refer to this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c03546603

Thank you

Hi Al345 I have the same problem as you with an HP Envy 17 and the same camera. Were you ever able to solve the issue?
