Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We have over 10 users reporting systems displaying black screens, but nothing else.

This is being isolated to our group of HP machines: HP HP ProDesk 400 G4 SFF Business PC

Windows Version: Microsoft Corporation, Microsoft Windows 10 Pro (10.0.19043) (en-US)

The machine will reach out to our remote service and allow us to connect, but nothing is displayed nor can we run any commands. Safe mode displays the same black screen.

Do not see any updates that were recently installed.

We are booting from a USB stick and trying repair now.

Hi Jr19871,

If the issue has been occurred after modifying something from your server administrator, please check from the server side and reconfigure the policy that deployed to those computers.

Otherwise, kindly try the following methods to fix the issue:

1-Force the computer to shut down 2 times until you get windows Troubleshooting > Advanced Options:

A-Startup repair.

B-If you have a system restore point, perform a system restore.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/recovery-options-in-windows-31ce2444-7de3-818c-d626-e3b5...

C-If you installed any updates recently, uninstall it

D-Click on Command Prompt > Type this command and hit enter:DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Once it finishes, type this command and hit enter:
sfc /scannow

Also try boot repair commands:
bootrec /scanos
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /rebuildbcd

Once it finishes, type this command and hit enter:
chkdsk /r

E-If you have enabled fast boot in UEFI Firmware, disable it:
https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/21284-enable-disable-fast-boot-uefi-firmware-settings-windows.ht...

F-Reset this PC > Keep my files.

2-If it did not help, create a bootable USB of Windows 10 and boot your computer with the USB:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-installation-media-for-windows-99a58364-8c02-206f...

On the installation window, click on repair and try the options provided in step 1.

After that, check if it fixed the issue or not.

3-If the issue is still unfixed, perform a clean install:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/clean-install-windows-10/1c426bdf-79b1-4d42-be...

Be noted that you have to install the same Windows edition that was running on your computer in order not to face Windows activate issues.

If you have important data, try to rescue them:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-update/rescue-files-when-windows-wont-s...

Please let me know if you need further assistance and keep me updated.

Stay safe
