I upgraded to Windows 10 some time ago and lost all sound and video was compromised (video would not play) so I uninstalled Win 10. How can I determine whether these things can be fixed if I upgrade?  Downloading drivers for my video and sound card did not fix the problem.  Does HP offer a computer scan to help with this decision?

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

HP does not offer a scan to see if your PC will run W10.

HP does not support W10 on your PC. So you must rely on Microsoft to provide good hardware drivers.

Doing an upgrade also adds more complexity.

I would get a second HDD or SSD. Do a clean W10 install on the different storage disk and sees how it goes.

Since you have already upgraded to W10 on this PC the new W10 installation should activate if W10 activated when you did the upgrade.

Regards
