My processor won't handle Windows 11, Microsoft says. So, what can I replace it with that will work? Microsoft lists dozens but I don't know which will work with my HP, which has a Core i5

Hi:
Unfortunately, there aren't any processors that support W11 that you can install.
HP Pavilion 570-p023w Desktop PC Product Specifications | HP® Customer Support
The minimum Intel processor requirement to meet Microsoft's W11 processor requirement would be an Intel 8th gen core processor.
If you are interested in installing W11 on your PC as is, you can read this discussion for how I upgraded several HP and Dell notebook and desktop PC's that did not meet the W11 hardware requirements to W11 22H2.
You have to use the version of the Rufus utility that I zipped up and attached in the discussion (v3.18).

If the in-place upgrade fails, you should be able to clean install W11 using the bootable W11 installation flash drive you made with Rufus.
I'm replying to your post from a Dell Optiplex 7050 MT desktop PC running W11 22H2 and it has an Intel 7th gen core processor like your PC has.
