Ok This is pretty long and crazy sounding but here goes. I went to clone my main drive. when doing so my electric goes out on my house. Well i started the pc back up after and it said no Hdd where detected so i thought it was a done deal. so i unhook everything after i tried several times to get it to work and it did the same thing no Hdd. so i put everything back in the was original. so i last try i turned on the pc and much to my suprise it started booting up. i was like oh wow its working. well it wanted to do system restore or recovery. so i did a out of box restore. and it did it. bur instead of doing windows 10 x64 it stalled windows 8.1. now im stuck i cant get it to restore or upgrade to windows 10 or windows 11. when i hit F10 or F11 or Esc it dosent go to anything it just loads windows 8.1. i havent tried any usb installs or iso. i wanted to try and fix the bios preinstall program where it has recovery troble shoot and other things. any links to install windows do nothing when i click on them. idk if any has a fix or if it can be i just wanted it to be normal like it was. i was trying to install a 4TB Hdd and have original windows on it thats why i was cloning it.

Hi:
You can upgrade back to W10 for free like this:
Make a bootable W10 USB 64-bit installation flash drive with the media creation tool from the link below.
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
It will be easier to do this if you have a PC running W10 or W11 because on W7 or W8.1 you need to make some registry changes in order for the media creation tool to work. See this link if you only have your PC to use.
Have your PC running and at the Windows desktop.
After you create the bootable W10 installation flash drive, plug it into your PC's USB port.
Do not boot from the flash drive.
Open the flash drive in Windows Explorer.
You will see a list of files on the flash drive.
Double click to run the Setup application to begin the upgrade process to W10.

Yes, and that is the reason I gave you that option.
The way I described performs an in-place upgrade like you did when you first upgraded to W10.
The problem is in the old days when you clicked on the W10 Microsoft media creation tool link, there used to be a blue button to click on that indicated 'Upgrade Now,' and you could just click on that to do an in-place upgrade.
When you double-click to run the Setup application from the USB flash drive in Windows Explorer, it does an in-place up grade and you will have the option to save your programs, files and settings which is what you should select.
If you clean install W10, you will lose the ability to factory reset the PC.

Unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you with the problem.
The only suggestion I can offer is find a friend or relative that has a PC running W10 and bring your 8 GB USB flash drive over to them and make the W10 installation USB flash drive.
The process takes about 10 minutes or less with a decent internet speed connection.

You're very welcome.
There should be no problem with making a USB installation flash drive with any W10 PC.
Just make sure you select the option to create a bootable installation media for another PC option.
