booted omni 120 aio pc from usb recovery drive bought from hp, boots to blank recovery window

Product Name: hp omni 120-1050xt
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

 

 

Customer ran remove all partitions from recovery screen, bought a recovery flash drive from hp direct, when booted from the flash drive, a blank recovery window opens, a life ring in the upper left corner and red x in the upper right corner. clicking the life ring exits the recovery. how do i run the recovery?
