I purchased a HP EliteDesk which came with an HDMI cable, however, there isn't an HDMI  port on the back

Am I to assume that you bought this desktop secondhand, such as via eBay (the Seller made a mistake) or did you buy it new from HP?

 

You are correct, most HP EliteDesks are fitted with DisplayPort ("DP") video ports.

 

What model EliteDesk do you have?  -Type in system information in your Windows search bar, and click on the System Information App.  Once there, please provide the "System Model", System SKU", and the "BaseBoard Product" numbers.

Thanks for the input, I purchased a VGA to VGA, and all is good. It was purchased on amazon as a refurb.
