Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have a HP 750-247c. The cd dvd drive will not play discs. I've checked device driver and have found that there is an error message. Device status says : Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. ( Code 39)  Object Name not found.

I've uninstalled the drive, and rebooted, but the same error message appears.  i've checked for updated drivers via the PC and via Windows update, but still have the same issue. I have replaced the drive with a known good drive but still get the same error message.

I have tried other solutions found with search, but nothing works. I could really use some help, in easy plain steps.

Can anyone help?

The only suggestion I can offer would be to go through the steps at the link below:

Your CD or DVD drive is not recognized by Windows or other programs - Microsoft Support

Start with method 4, then 5, then 6.
