Hi, @RonDMD
You can use this gigabyte tool to put the USB 3 drivers into your W7 installation flash drive.
http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Utility/mb_utility_windowsimagetool.zip
You must use a W7 flash drive to install W7 on your model.
Before you can install W7 you also will need to go into the BIOS, enable legacy mode and disable secure boot.
W7 is not compatible with secure boot.
See this link for the BIOS settings to change.

Greetings,
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a HP employee.
There are five possible products when checking 580-005.
They all have an Odense variant motherboard. The Odense MB chipset is a H170.
You have one big hurdle to get past to successfully install W7 on this system. The Windows 7 setup disk USB 2.0 support does not match the H170 USB 2.0 chipset drivers. Hence the keyboard and mouse will freeze when you run the W7 installation disk. HP PC's don't have PS2 ports so this workaround is not an option.
You need to add USB 3.0 support to the W7 installation disk. Intel used to provide this utility (Windows 7 USB 3.0 Creator Utility) at it's Support site but Intel has taken the site down.
Doing this OS downgrade does not look promising.
Regards

It is possible to downgrade. I downgraded my Windows 10 laptop to 7 cause 10 was giving alot of problems. But it was not easy as there were no USB 3.0 drivers during installation.
You will need to add USB 3.0 Drivers to your installation media first before you will be able to install it. If you do not then Windows will not see your keyboard or mouse and will also not see the installation media thus you wont be able to install.
Once you downgrade to 7 you will need to activate Windows with a key that you will need to purchase. There is no way to download Windows 10 to 7 and have 7 activate with no key. You will need to purchase a key for 7 in order to use it.
Drivers may also be a small problem as you will most likely have to do some digging to find them.

Hi, @Grzwacz
The Gigabyte tool should work fine. It will work on any Skylake and Kaby Lake chipset.
Here is a pretty neat video on how to use the Gigabyte tool.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=APcboOpP4TY
The only discrepancy with the video, is that even if you do install W7 from a DVD, the KB and mouse will freeze on any HP PC that does not have PS2 KB and mouse ports, and you are using a PS2 KB and mouse.
That is because there are no USB 3 drivers for the USB 3 ports and no USB 2 drivers for the USB 2 ports since the Skylake/Kaby Lake chipsets have no USB 2 support until W7 is installed and the Intel chipset installation utility is installed.

Hi, @Grzwacz
You can post anything you want that is relevant to the subject at hand, as long as it is legal to do so.
Also, clean installing W7 is not modifying the HP factory OS install, it is wiping it out, thus voiding the HP software warranty.
