I keep getting notified to install desktop pc bios update rom family 830c on my desktop. Every time I try to install it, it fails. Has anyone experienced this and do you  know the resolution?

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

Your MB  (Link, look in "Motherboard description") requires a 2B4B BIOS update.

Sp85454.exe (Link) is the correct BIOS update for your MB.

Thanks for your quick reply. I've downloaded the file but after accepting the license it does nothing.

Hi,

You're very welcome.

Try downloading at the HP site (Link).

It should work.

Still no luck. I've rebooted the machine and tried launching it again but nothing happens after the initial screens.

Hi,

That's strange.

This (Link) is your PCs driver download site.

There are four BIOS updates, one being SSID 2B4B.

This is your MB (Link). The SSID is 2B4B.

Why are you updating the BIOS? Are you having a problem?

Regards

I'm updating the BIOS because HP Support Assistant keeps broadcasting the update to me and I usually make sure that everything on my PC is up to date. I may just have to forego this one.

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

Try right-clicking on the update.

Select, Run as Administrator.
