hp compaq 8300 sff
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I found this Ram online and purchased it is has the same specifations 2x4 gb 1600mhz 12800 240pin cl11 1.5volt but when I checked the Kingston web site it says it is Dell specific can I use it on my 8300 motherboard

Yes. Part KID-XPS730C/4G does have the appropriate spec for the HP Elite Desktop 8300 SFF and should work there.Hope that helps.

Since you have purchased the RAM, just install it, and try it.  You cannot "hurt" the RAM nor the motherboard.

for free software that will extensively test the RAM.
