popup from HP in the lower right corner saying to upgrade but goes to error404.

The pop up from HP says I need a critical upgrade for the Display panel, but the link goes to Error 404. 

How do I get this message and error code to stop, and if the upgrade is so critical why doesn't it tell me how?

There are a number of reasons for the 404 to show up including some rather dangerous ones where the 404 might indicate a malicious web site had been removed.  It is much more likely that someone messed up the location of the update.

Rather than speculate it would be better to see if we can find the update and install it.  What is your system or model?  With that we can look at legitimate driver updates and see if there are really any critical ones.

For my own curiosity, can you post the URL to the 404 site?  If you hover your mouse over the "update" does it reveal the same URL as the error message on your web browse?
