i have ran chkdsk and ran the disk health scan from wd. the disk appears fine and healthy. the message appears for a few seconds then everything runs normally. should this be a concern? from what i have read this could be nothing all the way to imminent death.

If you were still using and HDD and seeing this message on a regular basis, my guess would be that the HDD is dying and needs to be replaced.
But with an SDD, you should not be getting this message.
Despite what folks think, SDDs can go bad - I have SDDs in all the PCs I support and I have has to replace nearly half of them over the past couple of years.

well its doing it on a ssd. also it will not backup using any method and as a last ditch effort tried to reset but it wont do that either. it just gives a message that reset is not possible so it didnt change anything.
