i have a compaq presario cq5320F running windows 7. never upgraded.

It will allow WIN 10, but there will be changes:

1) Some programs will not be compliant. Those will be listed.

2) generic drivers.  HP does not support this into WIN 10.

 

Free download WIN 10, with an in-place install.

Hello @jgal11 
the best thing to do, since the pc may not be 100% functional, would be to test with another hard drive, but without buying windows license!
If it works well, you can possibly buy a license, if not, you can reinstall the original hard drive!
This allows you to do a test without risk, and to keep everything on the original disc!
