As above you can see I have been dealing with a irql issue for 2 and a half days. The problem seems to be ntoskrnl.exe yet when trying to install, repair, or all other suggestions I am greeted with "cannot run this in Win32. This is about to make me go postal...Help please!

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you with the "0x.." error. 

 

Try these steps to update the computer - 

 

Step 1 Windows Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open Windows Updates.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

 

Step 2 HP Support Assistant Updates -

1) In the search box, type and open HP Support Assistant.

2) Check for updates.

3) If the updates are available, click on install and restart the computer.

 

If the issue still persists, run the sfc/ scan - 

 

1) Select Start, and in the search box, enter Command Prompt. Press and hold (or right-click) Command Prompt (Desktop app) from the search results and select Run as administrator.
2) Enter DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth (note the spaces before each "/").
3) Enter sfc /scannow (note the space between "sfc" and "/").
