Product: envy700-230qe Desktop
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My bios says 9/13/2013 as it's last upgrade. Do I need to upgrade the bios.  It started out with Windows8 and I upgraded it to windows 10. Is there someone who can give me a straight answer on this. I have read numerous links that said something about the bios being linked to windows 8 and you couldn't upgrade it.

Updating the bios is sometimes risky, if there is a problem, the computer may no longer work

We can very well use the computer, if the bios does not have the latest version
If you don't have a problem, it probably doesn't help!
You have to see what is indicated as being resolved and if it is very important, sometimes nothing specific, you don't really know what changes.
As for the linked version, no, that's not exactly it ..
The bios update is made for a specific version of the operating system in general.
Therefore it is possible that this can not be done if we are under another version!
Sometimes it works, but we can't certify it
