If the HP Desktop Support Utilities App for Windows 11 installer is not updating through the Microsoft store, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:
Step 1: Check for Windows Updates
Ensure that your Windows 11 operating system is updated to the latest version.
- In Windows, search for and open Check for updates.
- If there are available updates, they will begin automatically.
- To download and install optional updates:
- In Windows 11, select Advanced options, select Optional updates, select the updates that you want to install, and then click Download & install.
- After the updates are installed, restart your computer when prompted.
Step 2: Use HP Support Assistant
HP Support Assistant is a useful tool for keeping your system up to date with the latest updates, including BIOS updates.
- In Windows, search for and open HP Support Assistant, or click the app icon in the taskbar.
- On the My Dashboard tab, find your computer, and then click Updates.
- Wait while HP Support Assistant analyzes the system.
- Select the listed updates, download and install them, and then follow any on-screen instructions.
- Restart the computer if prompted.
Step 3: Install Updates manually from HP's website
You can also manually download and install updates directly from the HP Customer Support website.
- Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page.
- Select Laptop and type your computer model name (e.g., HP Spectre x360 - 13t-aw000 CTO).
- Select your operating system (Windows 11), and check for available software and driver updates.
- Download and install the required updates following the on-screen instructions.
Step 4: Microsoft Store Troubleshooting
If the Microsoft Store is not updating the app, try troubleshooting the store itself.
- Open Microsoft Store and check for updates.
- Reset the Microsoft Store cache:
- Press Win + R, type wsreset.exe, and press Enter.
- The Microsoft Store will open automatically once the cache is reset.
- Re-register the Microsoft Store using PowerShell:
- Open PowerShell as an administrator.
- Enter the command: Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers|Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
