If the HP Desktop Support Utilities App for Windows 11 installer is not updating through the Microsoft store, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

Step 1: Check for Windows Updates

Ensure that your Windows 11 operating system is updated to the latest version.

  1. In Windows, search for and open Check for updates.
  2. If there are available updates, they will begin automatically.
  3. To download and install optional updates:
    • In Windows 11, select Advanced options, select Optional updates, select the updates that you want to install, and then click Download & install.
    • After the updates are installed, restart your computer when prompted.

Step 2: Use HP Support Assistant

HP Support Assistant is a useful tool for keeping your system up to date with the latest updates, including BIOS updates.

  1. In Windows, search for and open HP Support Assistant, or click the app icon in the taskbar.
  2. On the My Dashboard tab, find your computer, and then click Updates.
  3. Wait while HP Support Assistant analyzes the system.
  4. Select the listed updates, download and install them, and then follow any on-screen instructions.
  5. Restart the computer if prompted.

If the Microsoft Store is not updating the app, try troubleshooting the store itself.

  1. Open Microsoft Store and check for updates.
  2. Reset the Microsoft Store cache:
    • Press Win + R, type wsreset.exe, and press Enter.
    • The Microsoft Store will open automatically once the cache is reset.
  3. Re-register the Microsoft Store using PowerShell:
    • Open PowerShell as an administrator.
    • Enter the command: Get-AppxPackage -AllUsers|Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
