HP PC Hardware Diagnostics stops at 10% Video Memory

Pavilion All-in-One 24-x
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've tried running the System Fast Test and the Long Test. Both times, it passed the first step and then stopped progressing 10% of the way into the Video Memory Check. I let it run for hours and nothing happened.  No error messages, just stalled at the screen with 10%.

The system is fully updated via Support Assistant including HP PC Hardware Diagnostics in January and 2 Bios updates since then.  I went to the PC Diags site to download but unsure which version I should update with...SP 85412? 85414? or 82129?

My Diagnostic software says Version 1.1.0.

Superb effort, splendid troubleshooting and commendable diagnosis of the issue before posting.  Kudos to you on that score. You are a valued HP customer and it is paramount to assist you here. I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you.


As I understand you've performed a short and an extensive test on the system which has resulted with the failure ID, I would suggest this to be a possible hardware failure. I would recommend you contact our HP phone support for further assistance.


HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:

(1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.

(2) Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.

(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.

(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get the phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
