Why do I have to sign into an HP Smart account to do a simple print job from my HP Envy printer to my HP desktop?  I could care less about the advantages of an HP smart account.  How do I just print scan, etc without signing in all the time?

I am sorry I bought HP

I am sorry, too, though I am pretty sure that the solution for this is within your reach.

Your unknown printer - and, in fact, most newer printers, support a Full Solution / Feature Software driver option for printing and scanning in Windows (and usually other recent Operating Systems, as well).

It is a matter of downloading and installing the full driver printer software for your printer and recent version of Windows.

The full driver printer software - once installed - provides print and scan options without the need to sign into the software.

After the full driver printer software is installed,

Use HP Scan for PDF and images / photos.

You can also make use of "not HP Smart" scan applications.

If you would like to do so:

  • Provide us the model name / product number of your printer.
  • Provide, too, the Operation System and version so we know what you need to install / use.
